What Not To Do In South Florida
July 26, 2021
Traveller tips

South Florida is a wonderful place to visit on vacation. However, many visitors may be unaware of the dos and don’ts of visiting south Florida. In this article, we’ll discuss the mistakes you don’t want to make in South Florida.

Don’t text while driving! Florida law makes texting while driving a ticket-able offense. Talking on the phone while driving is legal. However, to avoid any possible issues, it’s best to use your phone’s speaker or Bluetooth and not hold the phone in your hand.

Don’t forget to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated! Because of Florida’s humid climate, a temperature listed as 85 can feel like 100 degrees. On a hot day, you can easily start sweating within a minute of being outside. It’s important to stay hydrated because you can easily become lightheaded if you don’t. Florida is also close to the equator, which means UV rays here are more powerful than in northern parts of the country. Because of this, you should always wear sunscreen if you plan on being outside for the day.

Don’t be oblivious to your surroundings! Visitors to Florida can be oblivious that just like anywhere else in the world, Florida has crime. You should always pay attention to your surroundings. As a general rule, you should always keep valuables out of plain sight in your vehicle, always lock your doors, and most importantly, never leave a car running unattended. Another tip is when you visit the beach, make sure any valuables are secure; in other words, don’t leave your beach bag with your phone and wallet and go into the water with nobody watching over.

Don’t drive how you do at home! Here in Florida, between senior citizen drivers, tourists, and young speeders, the roadways can be difficult to navigate. Many drivers drive very fast, don’t signal, and can weave in and out of lanes quickly. Please drive with caution and don’t think that you will out-drive a Floridian on their own roads. Be careful entering and exiting the highways as Floridians aren’t always courteous to drivers. If someone is trying to beat you to the highway, just let them because they will not slow down and probably crash into you.

The Best Beaches In South Florida
July 22, 2021
Traveller tips

A Florida vacation begins with sandy beaches and palm trees. In fact, Florida has more beaches than any other state in America. In this article, you will learn about the best beaches in South Florida.
Some beaches are more trendy and attract large crowds. Others are more off the beaten path and offer a much more serene beach experience.

Let’s begin with what can be called “party” beaches. These beaches often attract a largely younger crowd and are nearby to bars, restaurants, and nightlife.

First on the list is South Beach, located in Miami Beach, Florida. This is The world-famous South Beach. Here you can find large crowds, a party-like atmosphere, and tons of fun. Right off the beaches are trendy bars and the world-famous art deco hotels on ocean drive.

If the south beach is too lively, Next on the list is Ft Lauderdale beach. This beach attracts a large crowd, though less rowdy than South Beach. This beach offers a beachfront basketball court, a playground, and plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Now it’s time to discuss the tranquil beaches. These are beaches that are surrounded by nature rather than bars and buildings. These are picturesque beaches where you can catch the relaxing sounds of waves crashing to shore.

First on the list is Crandon beach in Key Biscayne. This beach is untouched and features luscious dunes topped with sea vegetation and towering palm trees perfect to lounge under. This beach features two quaint beachside eateries.

Next up is Dania Beach, which lies alongside a state park featuring untouched vegetation and a river that runs along the intercoastal. The beach itself is also largely untouched. Towards the southern end is the Dania Beach pier, which extends hundreds of feet from the shoreline.

You now know four of the best beaches in the state. Keep in mind many beaches have metered parking though free parking can be found nearby. Remember to wear sunscreen and bring an umbrella for some portable shade. But most importantly, Have fun!
